Being present: holistic bodywork

Trauma-informed clothed bodywork supporting your healing journey

Home

Welcome! I'm Lisa Kammerud, LMT, founder of Being Present. I specialize in bodywork that supports healing from trauma and invites change in the body, mind and spirit. Presence, awareness and intention are the 3 essentials of therapeutic, holistic bodywork that you'll experience in all my sessions. Beyond this, each client relationship and each session is unique. If you are seeking change or healing in your life, body, or energy, we will work together to support your journey.

As a licensed massage therapist (LMT) and Registered Jin Shin Do® Practitioner*, I utilize a variety of tissue manipulation and energetic techniques, including acupressure, craniosacral therapy, fascial release, and Reiki.

I support clients healing from trauma and addiction, as well as anyone seeking a deeper body/mind/spirit connection! I would love to talk about how I can support you on your healing journey. I also facilitate groups (in person or online), and collaborate with other practitioners to customize in-person intensive programs - content and location can be tailored to your needs.

For individual, in-person sessions, I offer clothed bodywork (with masks and appropriate COVID precautions) combining acupressure, craniosacral and fascial work. I also offer a unique telehealth experience in somatic focusing, presence, and regulation, taking full advantage of the safety and flexibility of online work.

Local nonprofits: please contact me if you are interested in working with me to offer bodywork at a discount with your organization - whether for your staff and/or to those populations with whom you work!

*Jin Shin Do” means “The Way of the Compassionate Spirit.” Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure® uses gentle yet deep finger pressure on specific acu-points and verbal Body Focusing techniques, to help release “armoring” or chronic tension, balance the “Qi” or energy, and improve vitality. This clothes-on method helps relieve stress- and trauma-related problems. A unique synthesis of a traditional Japanese acupressure technique, classic Chinese acu- theory, Taoist philosophy, Qigong (breathing and exercise techniques), Reichian segmental theory and principles of Ericksonian psychotherapy, Jin Shin Do® acupressure was originated by Iona Marsaa Teeguarden. Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure® is not intended for the diagnosis, treatment or cure of disease. It is a relaxation therapy, and a useful adjunct to licensed, qualified medical or psychological care. For any persistent pain or symptom, even a seemingly minor one, the reader is strongly encouraged to consult a medical doctor. When used in conjunction with standard medical treatment, the Jin Shin Do® Acupressure technique can assist the healing process by releasing tension, decreasing stress and encouraging a sense of increased well-being.
